During the 2008 Presidential election, Denyse created a quilt inspired by Barack Obama's message of hope and change. Long before women had the vote, they created quilts with political and commemorative themes. We are proud to participate in this honorable tradition. Everyone who made a donation– large or small– to the Obama campaign via Denyse’s fund-raising page on the campaign’s website was entered into a drawing to own this historical heirloom. The lucky winner was drawn randomly from the pool of supporters. The quilt is 100% cotton, hand-appliquéd and machine-quilted. 50" x 52".
In 2009, Michigan State University commissioned a Yes We Can quilt for their permanent collection.
