Cog + Wheel Sew-Along 2022!
Buckle up—my sew along dream team (Sewtopia,The Next Stitch, and I) are collaborating once again to take you on a brand new virtual sew along featuring my Cog + Wheel pattern!
If you’ve been feeling the need for a little structure and guidance to help you complete a project, then a virtual sew along—chock full of tips, tutorials, advice, and plenty of support and encouragement—is just what you need!
The Cog + Wheel sew-along launches September 6, 2022, and runs for five action-packed weeks. Registration begins August 5 – just sign up with your email address, and look for our weekly newsletters beginning in September. You’ll receive guidance on choosing fabrics, sewing tips and techniques with loads of photos, along with feedback and positive reinforcement via Instagram from your hosts and the welcoming sew-along community. We're also adding some live Zoom events this year – one to kick off our first week, and another later in the sew-along to help keep your sew-jo going.
Our Free-Wheeling Single Girl Sew Along in 2019 welcomed 2000 participants, and I'm always bowled over by the shared creativity, kindness and generous communal spirit that sew alongs—our virtual, modern-day quilting Bees—provide. For inspiration, check out some of the wonderful work made here! (ignore the boy and wheel photos inexplicably using our hashtag).
Registration is free, and begins August 5! Once you register, you'll receive a welcome email packed with all kinds of goodies, including:
• Links for shopping, discounts, and supplies from my sew-along partners and our sponsors.
• Link to download coloring sheets to help plan your Cog + Wheel quilt.
• Graphics to download and use on social media – post the Cog + Wheel "I'M ROLLING!" graphic on Instagram by midnight EST August 31 and be entered to win our first prize – a bundle of my Darling fabrics from Windham Fabrics, a copy of the Cog + Wheel pattern AND a set of Cog + Wheel acrylic templates!
You’ll need a copy of the pattern to participate; order a copy from my sew-along partners, our sponsors, or my website. Already have a copy? You're all set. (While my pattern had an update this year—to clarify some instructional text, and include some background and historical content – many have made successful renditions of the pattern, so you're good to roll. :)
Optional acrylic templates are available to make your cutting faster, more accurate and easier, but you can make your own cardboard templates if you prefer.
Let's get rolling with the Cog + Wheel Sew Along - see you in September!
