A fat-quarter bundle is an easy and affordable way to purchase an entire collection. Almost all of my quilt patterns are "fat-quarter friendly" – meaning one or two bundles is enough of the feature fabric to complete the design in any size. Just add yardage of your choice for background, binding, and backing.
What makes a fat quarter fat? A fat quarter is made by cutting a half
yard of fabric in half, rather than cutting a quarter yard off the bolt.
A fat quarter yields a more universally usable piece of fabric that
measures 18" x 22", while a quarter yard off the bolt would measure 9" x
45".
