Denyse had long had a desire to reinterpret the motifs of traditional hand-appliqué quilts. The form allows for a more illustrative approach to designing the quilt top, and her first appliqué series explores spare, stylized floral motifs. Vine is a single stem that grows the length of the quilt, with subtle fabric variations in the flowers that bloom along the sinewy line. It is exquisitely hand appliquéd and hand quilted by Amish woman in Minnesota. Ask us about color variations of this design.
